Environmental Pollution
Perform an internet search to identify an instance of environmental pollution affecting the air or water in your state. Please find a specific pollutant; this will help guide your research to complete this assignment. Use the example you found and the imaginary scenario provided below to complete the assignment.
Scenario: There is a concern about environmental pollution in your state or community. Because of your expertise as an environmental scientist, you have been invited to be a panelist at a town hall meeting in which you will present an overview of the issue. The audience consists of community leaders, members of the scientific community, and some local residents.
Create a 5-to 8-slide presentation (Microsoft® PowerPoint®) in which you explain the problem from a scientific perspective. Please see the Week 3 Rubric to learn how your presentation will be graded.
Address the following in your presentation with detailed speaker’s notes:
·Describe the factors causing the problem.
·Describe the data used to identify the pollutant (basically, how is the pollutant measured or identified? Share data associated with the pollutant!).
·What solutions or opportunities should be explored to address the issue further? Note that I am looking for more than one!
·Incorporate at least two relevant key words from the following document:
·Include a title page, introduction, conclusion, and list of references. The title page and references are not included in the slide count.
·Include helpful visual aids.
·Reduce wordiness on your slides by limiting the main points to 3- 5 words per point. The main points are expanded upon in your speaker’s notes (see below).
·Add speaker’s notes for each slide. These notes reflect what you would say in a presentation and are added to the box below each slide. You can also write your speaker’s notes in a Word document.
Cite and reference at least 2 outside sources. Cite these references either on your slides or in the speaker’s notes, include a references slide, and use APA format for these elements along with your title page.
