Secret Path is an animated film, which combines work from the graphic novel and Gord Downies music to tell the story of Chanie Wenjack. Purpose of this journal is to explore the concepts and ideas present in the text in ways that resonate with your own learning, to acknowledge your personal connections with a piece of literature and to pursue varying elements of your own writing, including voice, vocab, and structure.
Basic Criteria:
– 2 pages of typed, double spaced work per entry
– 2 quotes from the poems per entry cite accordingly and include a works cited page if you do)
– 6 entries total
– Full sentences, well organized
– Include the title and line numbers from the poem that you are focused on for each entry
In each journal entry, your aim is to explore and analyze various aspect of the poems that consider to be interesting and connect these to your learning and understanding of the world around you, other pieces of literature, or other aspect of the Secret Path itself. There is no right or wrong as far as what element(s) you chose to discuss but you must approach your writing with the level of insight and sophistication..”
