Need help with my English question – I’m studying for my class.

Purpose: Craft an essay that synthesizes your research. At this point, your goal is to present the dominant claims—found in your research—about your selected topic. Your goal is not to agree or disagree with the authors that you include in your essay; however, you will have the opportunity to incorporate your own views about the topic in the concluding paragraph.

  • Use your Assignment 4.1 submission in order to craft a cohesive review of your selected sources about a specific topic.
  • Your essay should contain an introduction, conclusion, and at least three body paragraphs.
    • The introduction must contain a thesis (e.g., what “research” specifically informs
readers about the selected topic). The introduction, an overview of your research,
should outline the specific topic that you are addressing and its importance to readers.
    • In the body paragraphs, address 3-5 specific claims that surfaced in your research; note
whether these claims are consistent in all of your research or whether disagreement (or
a difference in focus) exists. Ensure that topic sentences are specific claims and that
paragraphs are well-developed with textual examples (that are properly cited).
    • The conclusion should contain a restatement of the thesis—as well as recommendations
for the future (in terms of research or social/cultural changes). In the conclusion, take
the opportunity to share your own personal view about the topic and/or ideas that are
      expressed in your research.
  • Read your essay again, and refer back to the More About the Synthesis Essay Assignment page to make sure your essay meets these requirements.
  • Make sure you leave enough time to submit your draft to Smarthinking/Free Tutoring for review on thesis and content development – do this as many times as needed.

Criteria on which you will be graded: A good grade on this assignment (the Rough Draft) reflects that you have completed this assignment to specifications. It does not mean that your final paper will earn the same grade. Your instructor may highlight instances of editorial errors; and, while points will not be deducted for grammar, spelling, and plagiarism mistakes here, incomprehensible writing will not earn a “passing grade.”

  • Rough drafts will graded on content (claims, supporting arguments)
  • Rough drafts will be graded on organization and logic (transitions, flow)
  • Rough drafts will be graded on engagement with the texts and how you engage them in conversation

Points may be deducted if the following format is not followed:

  • On the first page of your assignment, include your name, date, and assignment name
  • Font format: 12pt in a standard serif font such as Times New Roman, double spaced
  • Submit your assignment as a Word DOC or DOCX file to the Assignment Box

In 500-700 words, create an outline for your major paper. Any of the outline formats illustrated in the Week 3 Discussion can be used.

Keep in mind that the outline serves as an early draft from which you should more easily segue into the full and final paper assignment. The more specific your outline is, the easier your completion of the final paper will be.

At this time, do not quote any source material in your writing. In other words, do not quote for the time being. You will integrate quotes in Week Four.

You should integrate in-text citations (i.e. Last Name, YEAR, p. # or para. #) to indicate where your sources will best fit.

5 pages essay focusing on Slavery and select at least 2 theorists to support your argument

I’m trying to study for my Political Science course and I need some help to understand this question.

Following the instructions in the essay writing guide, which I upload, write a 5-7 page essay. Your essay should respond to the following topic:

1.Think of a strong, sharp argument about Slavery that has relevance to us today. Consider how you are going to conclude your essay–what is the lesson you want to take from these theorists that will help us learn something that can help us today?

2. With this sharp argument in mind, select at least 2 theorists who you can use to support your argument, or which you need to refute to be able to support your argument. Select from Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, or another Enlightenment theorist we have read. One supporting theorist and one opposing theorist can work quite well.

3. Write and edit paper as the essay writing guide suggests.

Heinz Steals the Drug

“In Europe, a woman was near death from a special kind of cancer. There was one drug that the doctors thought might save her. It was a form of radium that a druggist in the same town had recently discovered. The drug was expensive to make, but the druggist was charging ten times what the drug cost him to make. He paid $200 for the radium and charged $2,000 for a small dose of the drug.

The sick woman’s husband, Heinz, went to everyone he knew to borrow the money, but he could only get together about $ 1,000 which is half of what it cost. He told the druggist that his wife was dying and asked him to
sell it cheaper or let him pay later. But the druggist said: “No, I discovered the drug and I’m going to make money from it.” So Heinz got desperate and broke into the man’s store to steal the drug for his wife. Should the husband have done that?” (Kohlberg, 1963).

After reading the dilemma, respond to what YOU would do in the same situation. Be sure to include the reasoning behind your decision.

Be descriptive please, at least 2 paragraphs!

GOVT 2306- Discussion- Answer and reply-

Need help with my History question – I’m studying for my class.

The minimum writing requirement for the original post is 200 of your own words (excluding cited or paraphrased information from the word count).

Please address the following topic in your primary post.

“It Is Not The Answer That Enlightens, But The Question” – Eugene Ionesco

For this discussion board, each of you will ask the question. There is an art to asking a truly good question: a question that makes one wonder, think, perform some research, and analyze what one discovers. A good question piques the curiosity of those being asked. Here is how you should go about crafting your initial thread:

1. Read through the chapters in Unit 2 (or at least skim them)

Unit 2 Learning Objectives

  • Describe separation of powers and checks and balances in both theory and practice in Texas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of Texas government.
  • Describe state and local political systems and their relationship with the federal government.
  • Identify the rights and responsibilities of citizens.
  • Analyze issues, policies and political culture of Texas.
  • Chapter 7: Texas Legisture
  • Chapter 8: Texas Executive Branch
  • Chapter 9: Texas Judiciary
  • Chapter 10: Local Government in Texas
  • Chapter 11: Public Finance in Texas
  • Chapter 12: Public Policy in Texas
  • Chapter 13: Crime and Corrections Policy in Texas
  • Chapter 14: Building the Future

2. Find a topic therein that actually interests you in some way.

3. Read more outside of the textbook to develop a better understanding of the issue.

4. Ask the class a question – your thread must include some context and your sources for classmates to dig deeper. The question you ask must empower the student who answers to do a little research, to think critically, and to incorporate their own opinion.

Once you have written up and asked a good question, you will need to answer a classmate’s question. The sooner you post these, the sooner everyone can get working on them. Even if you don’t feel the author drew out your research or your opinion, make sure you answer using both, and a healthy measure of thought and critical evaluation of the topic.

Always identify sources with both MLA in-text (parenthetical) citations and references (in a Works Cited section at the end of your posting).

The minimum writing requirement must be met and exceeded using your own words (do not include cited information in your word count).

Don’t forget to include your word count!

Human Resource Powerpoint

I’m studying and need help with a Psychology question to help me learn.

Over the past 40 years, union membership has declined, and it continues to do so. Instead, many companies are turning to alternative dispute resolution. We know one of the best union avoidance tactics is good communication and providing job satisfaction for employees.

Create a PowerPoint presentation (with speaker notes) that focuses on unions in the workplace. Address the following concepts in your presentation.

  • Identify the factors that have contributed to the reduction in union membership. Be sure to include the rationale you use in your speaker notes.
  • Evaluate whether or not the reduction in union membership is a good or bad thing for employees in the United States. Be sure to include the rationale you use in your speaker notes.
  • Explain what alternative dispute resolution involves, and identify the pros and cons from the perspective of the employee and the pros and cons from the perspective of the employer. Remember, you want to include the bulk of your explanation in the speaker notes, not on the slide.
  • Describe a situation where employees or managers would want to use some form of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation or arbitration as opposed to direct negotiation or litigation to resolve disputes. Be sure to include the rationale you use in your speaker notes.
  • Explain how each of the seven determinants of job satisfaction (individual personality, the work itself, compensation, growth and upward mobility, coworkers, management, and communication) help to create the type of environment where employees experience job satisfaction. Remember, you want to include the bulk of your explanation in the speaker notes, not on the slide.

Be sure to include an introduction and conclusion to your presentation. Include at least two images or graphics in your presentation.

Your PowerPoint presentation must be at least eight slides in length, not counting the title or reference slides. Adhere to APA style when constructing this assignment, including in-text citations and references for all sources that are used.
